DEPARTURE FROM NAPLES
We start this exciting tour with a visit to Gargiulo extra virgin olive oil factory. Gasp at the amazing views as we take a stroll through orchards of olive, lemon and orange trees, where you will be surrounded by the perfume of the different blossoms. Enjoy a demonstration on the production of Olive Oil from the olive on the tree to the bottle. Followed by a delicious tasting of this fine Olive Oil on freshly baked bread.
On our way to the next stop, the mozzarella and cheese makers, we make a fantastic photo stop over the two gulfs, the bay of Salerno and the bay of Naples, for a bird's eye view of the famous Amalfi Coast.
You will be welcomed with open arms by the family of the cheese factory, who have over 50 years of experience.
Hands on fun making mozzarella, and of course lots of tasting, participate in a wonderful explanation of the entire process from the 1st drop of milk to the final product.
On to local wine tasting, demonstration, visit to the cellar and tasting of up to 9 wines. A hobby adored generation after generation turned in to a successful business, now supplying most of the hotels and restaurants in Sorrento. The newest addition to their line is the DOC2006 red and white.
Time for a light lunch, included in price, set in peaceful grounds away from the tourist track. Sit back and relax with antipasta of local 'in season' vegetables, salami and ham, followed by freshly made pasta. All ingredients from the area. Lunch is served with local wine and soft drinks, followed by Limoncello a local liquor used as a digestive drink by the Italians, and a great way to freshen your taste buds for our next stop !!! ....
After lunch we head into the heart of Sorrento for Italy’s famous ICE CREAM, as they say 'no visit to Italy is the same without ice cream'. Mario, 3rd generation artisan of the famous Sorrentine ice cream makers will be happy to show you the secrets. He will create fresh ice cream for you with lots of tasting during the process.
A perfect end to a day tasting the delights of Southern Italy.
