DONATELLO
This apartment has the most history of all our other rental accommodation. Not for the beauty or historical art work and décor but for the centuries of monks and farmers who have lived here.
As far as we know, there has always been monks or a family of farmers living here. The apartment on the 1st floor, is situated in the main structure of the 800 year old ex monastery and has its own private entrance that leads from a balcony.
The entrance leads into the dining room, furnished with eighteenth century oak wood furniture and a dining table that seats 6. Off the dining room is a kitchen made from dark pine wood with all the pots and pans needed to create simple but delicate Tuscan country dishes.
The apartment is typical "old" Tuscan style and very spacious.
The dining room leads onto a second level and into the lounge area where there are two separate entrances that lead into the 2 bedrooms. Each bedroom has a double bed with orthopaedic mattresses and Egyptian cotton bed and bathroom linen.
From the small windows, build to keep the cool temperature in doors during the summer and the cold out during the winter, are magnificent views of the forests and rolling hills.
There is one bathroom situated off the lounge consisting of a toilet, shower, sink and bidet - with wonderful views of the country farm lands whilst taking a shower!
FRANCESCHI
Casa Franceschi is named after Ilario Franceschi, Major of Montepulciano in the 1850's, who used the Country Resort as his week end home and retrieve.
Situated on the 1st floor above the ex stables and has 2 late eighteenth century double bedrooms with one double bed with orthopaedic mattresses in each room, a typical Tuscan kitchen with an open fireplace that was used for cooking in the previous centuries, a living room furnished with 18th century furniture and on the walls are original frescoes done by order of Ilario Franceschi illustrating the country side. The only modern furniture in the living room is the presence of satellite television.
The bathroom consists of a double sink, toilet, bidet and shower.
The apartment has most of the original furniture, terra cotta floor tiles that were initially laid in the 14th century and the wooden doors full of character and history date back to 1750's.
The view from the windows are of forests, rolling hills and olive plantations.
LEONARDO
One of our largest apartments that accommodates between 4 to 6 people.
This 2 bedroom apartment with en-suite bathrooms is located on the ground floor.
A wooden and glass panelled private entrance that leads into a wide corridor taking you left into the lounge furnished with a sofa set, wooden coffee tables, satellite TV and typical Tuscan decor; very spacious with original ancient stone and brick walls, a dining area furnished with a large rustic wooden table that seats 6 people and an open kitchen build from walnut wood.
Off the living room is an alcove where you can relax with a good glass of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano in front of the open fireplace. This "room" is often used to accommodate one or two extra beds, allowing for up to 6 people to use the apartment.
To the right of the corridor are 2 bedrooms with wooden parquet floors, one with 2 single beds that can be united to form a double bed, an en-suite bathroom with a bathtub, toilet, shower and sink.
The second bedroom, large in size, has one double bed with an en-suite bathroom consisting of a toilet, shower, sink and bidet.
The mattresses are orthopaedic and personal bed and shower linen is made from the highest quality Egyptian cotton.
At the entrance and looking out of the kitchen window are lawn gardens with beds of lavender and terracotta pots placed in various areas with bright red geraniums.
The lawns and terraces are furnished with comfortable garden furniture to sunbath or tables and chairs to dine al fresco.
MICHELANGELO
Our second hand crafted gate situated at the boundary of our oak forest leads directly to this apartment which has its own private garden with garden furniture to dine out doors and views of the Valdichiana and lake Trasimeno.
The entrance leads into the a spacious lounge with a rustic wooden dining table and chairs and an open plan kitchen made of oak wood. The lounge, with an open fireplace is decorated with Tuscan furniture.
The apartment has 2 double bedrooms, one double bed in each room, en suite bathrooms consisting of a toilet, shower, sink and bidet.
CARAVAGGIO
The private entrance leads directly from the garden surrounded by bay leaf hedges where morning breakfast or to dine al fresco in the evenings can be enjoyed.
During the hot summers, there is a centennial pine tree to relax under the shade of the branches 5 meters from the entrance of the apartment.
On entering, there is a rustic wooden dining table and chairs for 4 people. The lounge has an open plan kitchen and a Biodynamic fireplace that heats the lounge / kitchen. Satellite TV has been installed for your convenience to be kept up to date with international events.
The décor is simple Tuscan countryside décor with high ceilings made from terracotta brick and wooden panels.
The two bedrooms are furnished with late eighteenth century furnishing, orthopaedic mattresses and Egyptian cotton bed and bathroom linen.
One bedroom has a double bed and the second, two single beds that can be united to form a double.
The bathroom consists of a toilet, shower, sink and bidet.
